Selection / Availability

It is really essential that players let their respective captains know of their availability for the following week before selection on a Monday evening.

It appears that this week there are 2 players who are having to sit out Saturday's fixtures due to letting captains know of their availability too late......

Hopefully you can appreciate that a skipper cannot drop a player once they have been informed that they are playing on the Saturday, even if a player of higher ability makes themselves available. Even if you are unsure on the Monday of your availability let the captains know and you can at least be provisionally selected.

Not naming names. They will know who they are.

Players need to make life as easy as they can selection wise for the skippers. We select on a Monday and generally let the players know as soon as possible if they are playing. Making yourself available on a Tuesday or Wednesday is too late. You can say to the skipper on the Sat that you will not know your availability until the Wednesday so you can be provisionally selected but to just leave it means someone else will be picked.......
